In my search and tests of various RSS feed plug-ins I can say that “Feedzy” provides best features for free. And destroys whole reputation being, I regret to say, yet another bloatware, annoyance inside WordPress.
One thing that got “Feedzy” in my narrow selection. Is the “items offset” option in the shortcode. Thus allowing me to create customized layout for a single feed source, like two columns.
And second pro. bit is that it’s default CSS for listing feed items has smaller indentation from the surrounding content or parent context.
I’ll not even try to mention any other plug-ins I’ve tested for this purpose, as they ether don’t work with latest WordPress versions or are just too bloated.
So, with all the benefits and the use-case occurrences in my projects versus spam it delivers. I decide to uninstall it.

That makes “RSS Feed Retriever” from Theme Mason the best free (limited functionality) solution for my use case. Which it’s self beats the default WordPress RSS block only by the fact it provides feed item featured images (post thumbnails). While having barley tolerable CSS styling for feed items list (too much indentation).
