As much as I’m happy with basic WordPress, I do reach for a few plugins. But that isn’t the topic.
There are few things that I want to tackle with intent of balancing UI/UX and monetisation of content.
First issue is that core WordPress “Gallery” (block) is not monetisation “friendly” and even for UX in contemporary terms. And I want to avoid relying on third parties with their extensions.
Since recently I’m working around to build better and or more efficient UI/UX using the “latest” full site edit block theme(s), custom templates, custom template parts, custom “Query loop” WP block.
I have a few tests – experiments to show here:
- Custom photo gallery experiment 2
- DevFoto Gal
- Responsive continuos feed flow
- Images feed with multiple customised Query loops
In those improvisations I’ve tried to get better or closer to modern mobile app UX/UI. With aspect to responsiveness (dynamic content layout) and continuos content feed flow.
Because the generic Grid and or List layout in case of Query loop doesn’t do the job for me.
And in case of generic Gallery WP block, for me it is failing in efficient monetisation.
In case of images I’m looking into “rebuilding” (without coding) by just “rewiring” WordPress using “Query loop” WP block, an feed of images as single dedicated posts.
In that way I can get UI like an image slider or a feed of image posts that contain only one image each.
And it should work on large display sizes and on smart or mobile devices as continuos feed of images.
